Fully Trained Protection Dogs

The dogs listed here represent current and upcoming dogs in the program. Final placement depends on lifestyle, goals, and security needs. A consultation ensures you are matched with the right dog for you and your household.

Priority One protection dogs are fully trained for reliability, control, and family integration. Each of our dogs is hand-selected from elite World Renowned bloodlines and raised in real homes, around families and daily life.

Over 100 Elite Protection Dogs in Our Program

Priority One Canine maintains more than 100 dogs in the program, but only a small fraction are available for placement at any given time. Only the top 1% of our dogs make the cut to home placement, as each dog is continuously evaluated for confidence, control, and family suitability – not just performance.

Our “top 1%” standard means we produce calm, capable family guardians that integrate seamlessly into households.

About Priority 1’s Trained Protection Dogs

Priority One canines are trained with an emphasis on clear, predictable communication with their owners.

Our dogs are trained to:

  • Remain calm in everyday settings
  • Respond with precision under owner control
  • Distinguish between normal activity and actual threats
  • Function as trusted companions

We train dogs for different protection roles, including:

  • Family protection for homes with children and regular visitors
  • Executive protection for individuals with elevated risk profiles
  • The breed of the dog alone doesn’t determine suitability. Other factors include temperament, security needs and household structure.

Choosing the Right Protection Dog

A dog that works for one family may not work for another. Finding the right dog for you depends on your household, experience level, lifestyle, and daily routines. A properly matched protection dog should feel like a natural extension of the family and household.

This is why we prioritize temperament stability. Our goal is for our dogs to transition smoothly between calm family life and protection.

We work with several carefully selected breeds, each with distinct traits that support different households and lifestyles:

  • German Shepherds offer stability and strong family bonds. They are intelligent, athletic, and have a strong instinct to protect.
  • Belgian Malinois are often mistaken for German Shepherds, but they are smaller. They are energetic, loyal, and reliable companions.
  • Dutch Shepherds are alert, driven, and have sharp instincts. They typically work well with active families, but can adapt well to different environments.
  • Rottweilers are confident, powerful, and deeply loyal to their families. They tend to be calm and steady in the home, with a strong natural guarding instinct.
  • Dobermans are highly intelligent, responsive, and people-oriented. Known for their loyalty and speed, they excel in personal protection roles while maintaining a strong bond with their family.
  • Other breeds offered upon request and availability.

Our required consultation is critical for long-term success. It will ensure that the dog's temperament, training, and energy level align with you and your household.

Our Placement Process

Placing a protection dog is only successful when it is supported by clear expectations, proper handling, and ongoing guidance. We follow a structured, intentional process for each placement to ensure a lifetime partnership:

  1. Initial consultation
  2. Lifestyle and security needs assessment
  3. Dog matching from the program
  4. In-home delivery and training
  5. Ongoing support

This approach allows us to slow the process, prioritize fit, and make sure each placement remains successful in the years ahead. Learn about the Priority 1 Difference to see how we help your dog settle confidently into your home and what to expect from our ongoing support.
